The lap distance is slightly more than 1K so the men start about 200M past the finish and have 4 laps to complete when they pass the finish line. The women start about 50M past the finish and have 2 laps to complete when they pass the finish line.
The 5K and 3K distances are verified with a Jones Wheel and are accepted for record purposes.
The complete course is very well lighted and is mostly traffic free with the exception of single lane traffic on one side. The runners are separated from this traffic by motorway traffic cones.
